General informations
The Department of Algebra was organized in the specialized department
of mathematics and mechanics of Physical-mechanical institute NASU in 1970. The head of Department up
to 1990 was P.S.Kazimirs’kii, a well-known specialist in the
linear algebra and theory of rings. Since 1990 Doctor V.M. Petrychkovych is the head of Department. There were 6 theses for a Doctor's degree and
20 theses for a Candidate's degree defended in the Department. The results of investigations of the Department's staff were published
in 9 monographs and in lots of articles
and conference materials. The main
