«PIDSTRYHACH READINGS – 2021»,

which will take place on May 26-28, 2021

at the Pidstryhach Institute for Applied Problems of Mechanics and Mathematics

of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Lviv

The conference will be online this year

   “Pidstryhach Readings” is the traditional scientific conference dedicated to the memory of Academician Yaroslav Stepanovych Pidstryhach, the founder of the Institute for Applied Problems of Mechanics and Mathematics. The main goal of this conference is to provide a forum for young scientists implying the wide communication, sharing of ideas between the youth and experienced scientists, as well as to gain experience in presenting scientific results.

    This year's Readings are dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine. Among those patriots who fought Independence even at the cost of their own lives was Stepan Zakharovych Pidstryhach, the father of Academician Pidstryhach, an activist of "Prosvita" and "Prosvityanska Khata" of the Volyn Ukrainian Association in the Samostrily village of the Koretsky district (Rivne region). He was convicted for this in 1940 and died in the "Bogoslovlag" camp in the Northern Urals.

The main topics of the conference
1. Essential problems of mechanics.
2. Current problems of mathematics.

   The abstracts of the presentations will be published in electronic form on the conference web page upon scientific reviewing. The extended versions of the selected talks will be recommended by the Program Committee for publication in the journal "Applied Problems of Mechanics and Mathematics".

   Official Languages of the conference are Ukrainian and English.
